The physics of vulnerability are simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall.

Rising Strong is about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending.

We all experience moments that take the wind right out of us. This 8-week workshop teaches us how to rise from these moments stronger, and how to focus on and harness the wisdom that can be gained from Brené Brown's three-part process of Reckoning, Rumble, and Revolution™. This course will leave us better able to overcome and best leverage failures and missteps of all sorts and sizes.

Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

This course is centred around discussion, creative exercises, connection, and the educational materials of Brené Brown. 

Together we will:

Identify and understand the role of storytelling plays in making sense of our own lives

Encourage curiosity about the emotions at the cause, core, and culmination of struggle

Recognize our physical response to difficult emotions

Share daily practices for improved stress management and emotional wellbeing 

Observe and internalize who we are and how we engage with others 

Change the narrative and write a new ending to our stories of struggle

Workshop Details:

4-6 participants, the group is kept small to encourage connection

Workbooks are included

Existing Peak Resilience clients and non-Peak Resilience clients are welcome

Participants will complete a simple intake form prior to the first workshop, and will read and agree to our group informed consent form

Participants will agree to attend all 8 days of the course to encourage safety and continuity

We require a minimum number of participants and may need to reschedule the course in the event where the registration numbers are low 

This workshop is for you if:

You tried to do something brave and it didn’t work out

You want to learn practical tools to manage “big” struggles (relationship ending, loss of job, etc), or “small” struggles (comment by co-worker, argument with a friend)

You notice repeating patterns in your life. For example, you feel like the same thing ALWAYS happens to you

You are curious about how your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours are connected

You want to continue being brave and showing up in your life

You have done the Daring Greatly Workshop

This group is run by Peak Counsellor and Supervisor Melissa Pickett.  She is a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, and all around badass.
