Elizabeth is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and minoring in Counselling and Human Development from Simon Fraser University.
With over 10 years combined education and experience helping people to live healthy, fulfilling lives, she works to help people reach their personal and professional life goals through compassionate client-centred support. In the past, Elizabeth has worked as a career counsellor and a small business coach and has helped many people successfully navigate exciting and new career transitions. Her core values include encouragement, humor, kindness, and confidentiality when counselling clients.
Elizabeth uses client-centred, trauma informed and evidence based approaches to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their inner thoughts and feelings. Elizabeth has post graduate training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness and values-based approach for coping with anxiety and depression. She helps clients learn practical day-to-day coping strategies and is passionate about helping clients build on their strengths and resiliency to lead a healthy and fulfilling life. Elizabeth is also trained in Emotional Focused Therapy for Couples and Individuals and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Outside of Peak, Elizabeth works in the area of Physician Health as a Resident Wellness Counsellor with the UBC Faculty of Medicine providing therapy to Resident Physicians.
Elizabeth is also a trainer in Circle of Security® Parenting, a parent education program that helps parents understand the emotional needs of their children, help them manage emotions, develop self-esteem and feel more secure.
