Katie is a warm and compassionate counsellor who establishes a safe, open and non-judgmental space for her client’s to work through the pains and challenges that come with living a fulfilling life.
Katie has a Master of Arts degree in counselling psychology and has over 13 years combined education and experience counselling a diversity of clients both individually and in groups. She has professional and lived experience with anxiety, chronic pain and relationship challenges.
Katie uses a holistic approach addressing thoughts, emotions, physical health and spirituality. In her work, Katie draws upon Mindfulness practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and psychosomatic theories. She also uses self-compassion, motivational interviewing and strengths based techniques to help clients realize their worth, inner wisdom, and resiliency.
Outside of Peak Resilience, Katie works for the YMCA’s Mindfulness Program, co-facilitating anxiety support groups for participants ages 13-30. Katie also does mindfulness coaching for leaders within the Ontario Government.
